Equipment

  • Frying pan
  • Spatula

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 300 g minced pork
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 2-3 Thai chilies chopped (adjust to taste)
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp fish sauce
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 cup fresh Thai basil leaves
  • cooked jasmine rice for serving
  • fried eggs for serving (optional)

Instructions

  • Heat vegetable oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the garlic and chili, and stir-fry for 1 minute until fragrant.
  • Add the minced pork to the pan and cook for 5-6 minutes, breaking it apart with a spoon until fully browned.
  • Stir in the oyster sauce, soy sauce, fish sauce, and sugar. Cook for another 2 minutes, allowing the sauce to coat the pork.
  • Turn off the heat and stir in the Thai basil leaves until just wilted.
  • Serve the minced pork over steamed jasmine rice, topped with a fried egg if desired.

Notes

For a less spicy version, reduce the amount of Thai chilies or remove the seeds. Replace pork with ground chicken or tofu for a different twist.
